Hello everyone, my name is Clara Maylivia Tjahjono. I am a grade 10 student at Petra Acitya Christian Senior High School. In this writing, I will share a story about one of my spectacular journeys, during which I search for, explore, and actualize the talents that God has given me. It’s not easy to find out these things because I have many interests, such as dancing, singing, acting, and so on. However, I also like trying new things that I find interesting.

One day, I decided to explore the Chinese martial art of Kungfu. You must know it, right? Especially if you like watching colossal Chinese dramas, hehehe. I started to be interested in this Kungfu art recently, in August 2023. Because of this interest, I decided to start practicing Kungfu regularly last August. It was not an easy thing for me because I had to spend so much time and energy to become a Kungfu artist. Am I tired? Of course, don’t ask. Moreover, Kungfu is very much related to physical strength. So, as you can imagine, In addition to being busy with school and church service, I had to undergo various physical exercises.

But that’s okay; amidst the exhaustion, there is a sense of satisfaction when I try my best to actualize my talent in Kungfu. Well, to further hone my skills and confidence, I decided to participate in a national level Kungfu competition. I was a little hesitant at first because I had just delved into this world, but I had already participated in a national-level competition. But, again, I must maintain my spirit and confidence. I believe, with my hard work so far, I deserve to be a champion.

On December 8–10, 2023, I participated in the National Kungfu Jamboree held in Malang. I fought a series of competitions and matches; I overcame my fatigue, pain, and doubts; I stood tall and believed that God would accompany me during my struggle. Finally, the long-awaited announcement day came. Praise the Lord, I won 2 categories, namely 3rd place in the 2023 Indonesian National Kungfu Championship in the “traditional empty hand” category and also 3rd place in the 2023 Indonesian National Traditional Kungfu Championship in the “Chum Kiu” category.

I am very grateful to have come to this point, and this is not the end of my struggle. I will keep my spirit up and keep trying my best.
